Today was my first experience with live elluminate. I must say it conjured up many feelings for me when I tried to first log on. Many questions ran through my head like what if I can't get it to work?, What do I do when I missed something?(on the recorded ones I would pause and take notes, rewind if I had to) but this was a little different and took a little to adjust. Overall, it was a good experience and I learned a lot, not only about Kurzweil but with how the whole live process takes place. It was great to have people ask questions for us to see, along with the answers being written. It was amazing that some people were not even in the room and were active participants in the learning experience. The communication with the moderator and the class through the board was great. The class became even more interesting when we were able to play around and apply what we were learning in the Kurzweil Program. The task of the curriculum pack seemed daunting but when we got involved in the task it was enlightening to see all the features we can use to help specific students with specific needs. We were all new at the task so it was fun to learn together. Some things would get frustrating(like how to get the sticky note read before the text) but we were persistant and figured it out. This made me realize that it is such a comprehensive package and it would take a while to know all the ins and outs of it all but it would be beneficial if our school purchased Kurzweil.
The sample shows some of the features that we incorporated into our pack(using a different reading).
I'm so glad you enjoyed Elluminate.
