I am entering this post to my blog from a sunny, lovely 2 day 'break' on PEI!!! Today I just finished watching 2 interesting Webinars on Apps in Action for Communication Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders. I really like how the format is set up on these webinars with regards to the categorization of apps to needs. It is so important that before we set the student off with technology loaded with apps that we have thoughly look at the needs and skill set of that student. In order for apps to be effective there has to be a perfect match to the needs of the student, if not it can make a situation even more frustrating and diffucult. I was excited to see a SLP included in the webinar and hear her perspective on good apps that she could use effectively. I was glad that we were on the same page because as she was telling about a few of the apps I already had them on my phone which reassured me that I was on the right track of searching out the correct apps for the students that I work with. I did download a couple that was suggested for that area and also a couple of other really great ones that were suggested.

These are just a couple of apps that I enjoyed today and will be able to use on a daily basis with my students. I also liked the little nifty app for calculating Chronological age(it will be great to use this to shave off those precious moments when doing assessments).
glad you enjoyed the webinars Stephanie.
